A leading academic medical center depends on an internal laboratory for accurate analysis and fast, efficient turnaround. To provide even greater value to the organization, the department charged a group of employees with finding better ways of initiating and completing projects.
Digineer® came on board to help the group become more effective at business analysis. A key research finding was that if skills and knowledge could increase, more projects would succeed, which in turn would boost overall organizational efficiency.
Many of the employees came from laboratory backgrounds and were new to business analysis. Digineer leveraged existing training programs to implement a practical, best practices approach that established standards and processes along with supporting tools.
The approach involved two parts. The first taught business analysis skills and provided standardized templates and procedures. The second initiated a year of formal mentoring. In the end, 30 employees completed the program and set new standards of project management efficiency within the department.
